I have never felt prejudiced for being an actor on television – Manit Joura
Mumbai, 09 April 2021: There has always been a constant conversation about actors getting tagged for being ‘Television Actors’ and not being offered equal opportunities in other forms of entertainment. Manit Joura, who is currently seen in Dangal TV’s Prem Bandhan doesn’t necessarily agree with this. He has made his place in TV, movies and also the OTT platforms and he says he has never felt that he has carried the TV actor tag with him. He is of the opinion that it is all about the craft and the talent.
Adding more to this and talking if he feels prejudiced for being a TV actor, Manit says, “To be very honest I have never felt prejudiced for being an actor on television. I have worked in films and in TV and also the web. There are many TV actors who have made their space in movies and have proved themselves. They have removed barriers and changed mindsets. I don’t think such a mindset still remains. But having said that, one should not forget, it is the craft and not the actor. If you know your job well, if you know your craft well, you’ll never have to face such things. Hence, I always give preference to my craft before anything else.”
Looking at the characters Manit picks, he is always seen challenging himself. Even with his character Harsh, he did something he had never tried before and also hasn’t been seen on-screen very often. The audience and his fans have loved him for all that he has done and can’t wait to see more of him on various platforms.
Prem Bandhan is a story about an independent girl who has the responsibility of her family on her shoulders and how she meets a cross road and ends up marrying a businessman with a mysterious past. Watch Prem Bandhan from Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm only on Dangal TV.
